Ivan and Leonid are artists, friends, housemates, and fellow students at the Offenbach University of Art and Design. And so, the former created a sculptural portrait of the latter, full-length and frighteningly realistic. The idea was born out of a joke: to sell to one gallery owner his artist. But, as often happens, once realised, the idea inevitably acquired new dimensions and meanings. An artist is always a bit of a paradox, a narcissist, a Pygmalion, and a mannequin. He is equal to his art and therefore naked in front of the viewer.
